There are so many festivals and parades and other events in New York City it isn't possible to list them all. This is a curated list and I will be adding to it on a regular basis. Whether you want to go to them or avoid the traffic congestion that is created by them, you should become aware of what’s going on during your stay. Just do a quick internet search. New York City loves to celebrate. We love a party! There are also many street fairs throughout the city.
January 1st - The Annual Coney Island Polar Bear Swim.
February 5, 2019 - Chinese Lunar New Year.
March 17, 2019 - The largest St Patrick's Day Parade in the world is here in NYC.
April 21, 2019 - The Easter Parade. While it isn't a parade per se, people wear fabulous outfits and hats and walk around on Fifth Avenue near St. Patrick's Cathedral from 10am-4pm.
May 18, 2019 - the Dance Parade.
June 9, 2019 - National Puerto Rican Day Parade
June 22, 2019 - Coney Island Mermaid Parade.
June is Gay Pride month with many events happening. In 2019 NYC will host International Gay Pride on the 50th anniversary of Stonewall.
June 30, 2019 is the Gay Pride Parade in Manhattan. There are other Pride parades in the other boroughs as well.
July 4th at 9:00pm - the Macy's 4th of July Fireworks on the East River.
November 3, 2019 - the New York City Marathon. Watch 50,000 runners from around the world!
November 28, 2019 - Macy's Annual Thanksgiving Day Parade.
